A6300 wifi transfer
Mar 28, 2016
I am struggling with the A6300 wifi. I would only like to transfer the new pictures to a folder of my pick (ideally a Dropbox folder) on the server via wifi. Is that at all possible? I registered the admission point and Wifi security, which seemed to exist OK - and then I got stuck. The A6300 seems to insist that I use the airheaded Sony PlayMemories app (which is of no employ to me), and even that appears to require USB. Any advice?

tbh i dont accept a6300 only if the wifi is anything like a5100 then i notice the wifi incredibly slow, clunky and unreliable

As far every bit I'm enlightened yous can just transfer pictures to you phones motion picture library via the Playmemories app. I use information technology with an A6300 and iPhone half dozen and it works fine. First on the camera choose to Transfer photos the on your phone log onto the phones wifi like you would any wifi base station then open Playmemories app on the telephone and yous can transfer wirelessly.

every bit far every bit I know the app that allow you to upload your motion picture to the net merely allows you to upload it to either facebook, flickr or sony'due south photo storage server... it doesnt support dropbox. If that is all the same truthful, then no, you deceit do it directly from the A6300, yous will have to go through your phone or your estimator to practise it.

It all depends on how strictly yous define "possible".
Geek version:
The latest versions of the Sony Photographic camera Remote API seem to support paradigm transfer on select cameras, of which A6300 is i. Based on the docs, it looks similar this should also support transferring raw files, but I haven't verified that. However, a) someone would need to write an application running on your server that uses that API, and b) the fashion this works is that thecamera functions as an access point and a server that the device wanting to control it connects to, so you'd demand a wifi adapter on the "server" which would really be the "client" in this scenario.
For your average enduser:
Using the "sync to smartphone" camera app with a cheapo tablet w/PlayMemories Mobile defended to syncing duty could be an culling, but it doesn't support RAW.

Hello,
I have problem with my wifi transfer to PC (Windows, PlayMemories Domicile).
Connection pairing duration ii minutes. Subsequent download takes 1-2 minutes for each image.
I utilize Asus RTN18U router. Distance between camera and router is 2 meter. On PC i plow off firewall, antivirus and others applications. Two times reinstall playmemories home and reboot router.
Google is not able to find that someone has solved this trouble.
Thank you

i have an a5100 and wifi has e'er been admittedly appalling
i found after they were (finally!) connected that i could explore to the photographic camera via windows and very very slowly transfer them that style - saved office of the wait and using playmemories which was just a monstrosity.
the terminal fourth dimension i only wanted to transfer v or vi pics, i started the process... got bored waiting....went and found the cable plugged information technology in etc all before the transfer was even half completed

Yes this is what everyone would like to practice. And should have been able to do years ago.
I in one case spent a full 60 minutes trying to get with Sony'south worthless "PlayMemories" software working and gave up. And even if I'd succeeded, information technology obviously won't transfer raw files, which is all I exercise.
Same problem here. I have tried everything to connect my new a6300 to my iPhone and my MacBook via wifi and USB, but neither works. I have gone through the whole admission betoken configuration setup routine several times, and although the iPhone and camera recognise each other, no connectedness tin can be established. All I desire to do is use the remote control for tripod shots, just it won't connect. I had it working perfectly on my old NEX6, so this is ultra disappointing for a supposed upgrade. Worst of all, the simply route for complaint seems to be on this group - no direct access to raise the outcome with Sony!

I'd dear my a6000 to be able to transfer files (jpeg, raw and possibly video) to a specified folder on my NAS wirelessly, simply unfortunately this isn't possible currently. It might be possible, though, to write an app doing it but this isn't my area.

As far as I know, the Direct Upload app which was offered on the A6000 is *non* bachelor on the A6300. I used to upload photos to Flickr all the time while on the become, and I am beyond peeved to see I cannot do that with the A6300. All the other on-photographic camera apps transferred over, but why this i did not...I've no thought why Sony chose non to, and from what their client support team tells me, neither do they.

Forget the Sony PlayMemories app.
one) Go to Sony back up website
two) Enter your production model to admission downloads
three) Download Sony Wireless Machine Import and Install
four) Open up the app and set computer equally target
v) Connect your Sony A6300 with USB cablevision
6) Your calculator is now paired with the device (Recollect to set the target folder for images)
Now your A6300 is able to detect your estimator whenever they are both continued to the same Wi-Fi. From A6300 menu, goto Wireless -> Send to computer and all images should beginning transferring wirelessly to your selected folder in your computer.

that sounds interesting - is information technology still painfully slow?
not so bad if dont have to wait around on the pc to click and look etc
if really but 'send' and thats information technology - fifty-fifty slow speed is ok

But I still can't set up for wifi file transfer.
